Niclas Mårtensson
Chief Executive Officer, Stena Line
Niclas Mårtensson has been CEO of Stena Line since 2016. With over 10 years of experience at Stena Line and 20 years in industries such as hospitality, transportation, and manufacturing,both in Europe and Asia, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his role.
Since 2020 he is also a member of the Swedish Government Electromobility Commission, working to increase electrification of transport systems.
Kaspars Rožkalns
Director General of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA)
Kaspars Rožkalns, with years of experience in marketing and management positions, now focuses on building Latvia’s global image and connecting businesses with opportunities.
He has served as the Head of the Representative Office in China and Germany for the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), working to increase exports and attract investments. As the Director General of LIAA, he prioritizes agility, flexibility, and professionalism in his team to deliver value to businesses efficiently.
Elisabeth Lönne
Chief Commercial Officer, Stena Line
Elisabeth Lönne oversees all commercial operations within Stena Line, including its freight and passenger business. The scope of her responsibility includes the whole of Stena Line’s European ferry route network with 18 routes structured in 6 sales regions, connecting 10 countries in Northern Europe.
She has a solid experience in the ferry industry with more than ten years of commercial roles for Stena Line in Sweden and abroad as well as earlier positions within Scandlines.
Jānis Kauliņš
Partner at EY Latvia, Head of Climate Change and Sustainability Services in the Baltic States.
Janis is leading the Climate Change and Sustainability Services in the Baltic States. He is advising Baltic businesses, on strategic and operational matters, in their journey of Sustainability Transformation. Has completed the Sustainable Finance training program with INSEAD and has a Certificate in Sustainability and Climate Risk from the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He has earned his Bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude (with great honors), at Lawrence University, USA, double-majoring in Economics-Mathematics and Psychology. Janis is a frequent speaker on Sustainability and ESG topics, sharing practical insights and best practices with business leaders and other stakeholders.
Salem Yohannes
Diversity & Inclusion Lead, Stena Line
Salem Yohannes is part of Stena Line’s People Experience team since 2021. In her role, she is defining the strategies, roadmaps and policies that will secure Stena Line as a safe, attractive and inclusive workplace now and in the future.
Together with the Diversity & Inclusion Council she challenges and oversees Stena Line’s performance and impact in areas such as employer brand, recruitment, learning and leadership, ensuring that Diversity & Inclusion are integrated throughout the employee journey.
Neli Karapetjan-Baranauskienė
Head of Intermodal Department at Vlantana
Neli has a solid experience of business development in the logistics sector.In 2010 she started her career in one of the largest logistics companies in Lithuania, where she successfully developed the freight ferry ticket reselling business. Later, she gained experience in shipping logistics at one of the leading shipping companies in the EU.
Currently she is successfully developing intermodal projects in Vlantana UAB, which is one of the first companies in the Baltics to offer combined transportation services.
Bogdan Ołdakowski
CEO of Actia Forum Ltd, BPO Secretary General
Entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Actia Forum Ltd established in 2000. Since 2006 Secretary General of the Baltic Ports Organization. Also a chairman of the board in Baltic Press Ltd and Motus Fundation.
20 years of experience in maritime transport market, as well as in EU policy and lobbying. Involved in several research and consulting projects. Access to a broad network of industry connections and contacts.
Able to initiate, build and lead international projects and policy incentives. Member of business and industry advisory and expert bodies, among others member of European Sustainable Shipping Forum. Since 2013 the board member of the Pomeranian (Gdańsk region) Chamber of Commerce.
Maria Tornvall
Head of Sustainability, Stena Line
Maria Tornvall is an experienced environmental engineer, heading Stena Line’s Sustainability team since 2022. In her role, she is defining the strategies and roadmaps that will secure Stena Line as a leader in sustainable shipping now and in the future.
Her team oversees Stena Line’s performance and impact in areas such as fossil emissions, ocean climate, corporate social responsibility as well as co-operating with the People Experience team to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Ēriks Lingebērziņš
Head of Tourism Research Centre
Executive director and member of the board of an incoming tour operator Balticvision Riga, associate professor of the Business School “Turība”.
Author of more than 20 scientific publications and author of scientific studies in the tourism industry on international tourism markets, tourist behavior, travel habits, and the importance of cultural differences in tourism business and destination management. He participated in the development of tourism destination and tourism product strategies with practical seminars.
Johan Edelman
Stena Lines Regional Director
Johan Edelman is Stena Lines Regional Director for business region Baltic Sea North. Working out of Riga, Latvia he is also the Managing Director for Stena Line SIA.
With over 30 years of experience in the industry he has held several key commercial roles in Stena Lines route network over the years.
Current responsibility includes the ferry routes Ventspils-Nynäshamn, Liepaja-Travemünde and Hanko-Nynäshamn connecting Latvia, Sweden and Finland.
Jacob Koch Nielsen
Stena Line Group Head of Freight
As Group Head of Freight Jacob Koch-Nielsen oversee the strategic and commercial development of the Freight product offering for Stena Line Group. The scope of responsibility covers the full route network and all relevant markets for both Accompanied and Unaccompanied freight including Intermodal solutions and value-added services. The commercial Freight organization is present in all main markets through 6 regions each headed by a Freight Commercial Manager.
He has as solid commercial and operational Freight & Logistics background from management positions within various sectors of the transport industry across multiple markets and companies.
Evita Goša
SCHWENK Latvija Member of the Management Board, Environmental and Legal Director
Evita Goša is the Environmental and Legal Director and Management Board Member of SCHWENK Latvija SIA. Before joining SCHWENK Latvija SIA in 2008 Evita practiced business law in several leading law firms in Latvia. She has studied law in Estonia and Austria (bachelor’s studies in European Union law at Concordia International University Estonia; exchange studies at Johannes Kepler University Linz), and Germany (master’s studies in business law at University of Mannheim).

Stena Line Baltic Business Conference is free of charge for all invitees.
There are three breaks during the day in which drinks, snacks and lunch will be provided.

We encourage all attendees to register for the conference in advance. This allows us to plan accordingly for the appropriate number of attendees.
However, we know sometimes plans are made at last minute. If you arrive at the conference and still
need to register, please come at the registration desk for assistance.
Conference will be happening on 9 th of May, 2023 in Riga at ATTA CENTRE. Registration starts at 9AM and ends at 7PM
ATTA CENTRE is located in Riga, Krasta street 60. You can easily get there by car, public transport, car sharing services or taxi. Parking is available on site.
As this is an international conference with attendees from Baltic countries and Scandinavia, event will be in English.
